ASI1600MM Pro Failure to Download Image

Hi,

I have been using Astrophotography Tool v3.70 to control my ASI1600MM Pro. Recently, I have been getting download errors where APT is unable to successfully download an image form the camera. I may image for hours before the error occurs. Everything may work for for a day or two and then the download error will occur at random during an imaging session. Once the error occurs, no new images can be downloaded. However, if I simply unplug the USB3 cable at the camera and plug it back in, everything works fine.

I don't know if this is a camera issue or a cable issue or a ? issue. Have you or other users encountered this problem? If I'm not mistaken, it occurs with short exposures (25 sec) with a 5-sec delay between exposures.

Hi Sir,

Could you make sure the cable is connecting stably and you can try it with ASICAP.

Yes, the cable is securely connected. This error does not seem to occur consistently. Last night, the camera worked for about 1.5 hours (45 images) before it failed. The previous session, the camera worked for about 1.5 hours before the error occurred (106 images). Thank you for the reply.

Hi Jay,

Do you have another cable?

You may try other cable and USB ports.

I tried a different cable last night and plugged into different USB ports on the hub and laptop Everything worked fine for the 2 1/2 hours I was able to image. This problem has been hit or miss, so I'm not totally convinced the cable/ports solved it.
