ASIAIR issues with telescope control (ver 1.2.1)

Hello,

When I use my ASIAIR with my mount (iEXOS100), I usually go on the telescope control page and select "Sync from phone" to get location data from the iPad. However, I noticed that the date, time and time zone always remain empty (latitude and longitude are ok). Is there any reason for this? Doesn't the mount need to have proper date and time to point accurately?

Note that gotos seems to be correct, which would mean that proper date and time are registered, just not displayed.

Also, a slight warning to other users. Tracking does not work properly with this mount, as soon as I get out from the telescope control dialog. This appears to be a problem with the iEXOS100 latest available firmware, not the ASIAIR, though. I'm already in contact with Explore-Scientific about that last issue.

Hi Pascal,

ZWO has just yesterday released v1.3. The beta has been available on iOS TestFlight for a couple of weeks. You might check to see if the display in the Telescope Settings window of v1.3 is less confusing now.

"Sync From Phone" button has been renamed "Sync to Mount." The only items in Phone Info are the latitude and longitude boxes (both user editable), while none of the fields in the Mount Info section is editable.

Tracking behavior has also changed. ASIAIR v1.3 places the mount into tracking mode the first time you press one of the direction buttons. Fortunately, once you manually turn tracking off, further presses of a direction button no longer turns on tracking behind your back. A GOTO continues to turn tracking on.

I use ASIAIR latest version1.3.

But at telescope setting window have no "Sync to Mount.". I can not see it button.

I'm using IEXOS-100 also.

How to show it?

Hi Khun Taro,

In the Telescope Settings window for the RainbowAstro RST-135, there should be a green "Sync to Mount" button on the far right side of the Phone Info section. It is on the far right, at the same vertical position as the "Phone Info" caption, and just above the Longitude and Latitude fields.

I just tried ASIAIR 1.3 on iOS (iPad Pro and iPod touch) and an old Samsung Galaxy Tab A, and they all show the green button.

Do you have a second smart phone or tablet that you can try? It may just be a UI bug (button too far to the right for some displays?). But perhaps ASIAIR v1.3 no longer can sync data to your mount.

You may need to post a new subject that says "Sync to Mount" is missing for your mount, to catch the attention of the ZWO folks.
