Asiair Support for Olympus OM-D-E-M2 Mark II

Dear Zwo team

I currently have as backorder for the Asiair package including camera and guiding scope. As I am not on Facebook I could not find information about an existing or planned support for the Olympus OM-D camera series. I also could not find details on the functionality added with V1.3.

New Features

- Adjust info in Telescope Settings page and add Auto-Center function to achieve accurate GoTo

- Move the Choose Object function to the Mount Control Panel, and display the GoTo target's RA/DEC info

- Add support of using SkySafari while connecting mount via EQMod

- Add Sun & Planets data in Choose Object function and Optimize the database of stars

Optimization

- Improve the firmware update process, fix problems caused by power failure during upgrade to make the procession more reliable

- Optimize the UI/UX in the settings pages, to make it simple and elegant. ASIAIR will be much easier to use

- Fixed a lot of bugs, the app is more stable now

I saw that AISAR Plus on the licensing session mentions to use GPhoto drivers, these drivers supports many other than Canon and Nikon DLSR, inclusive Olympus, why ZWO now using these drivers add support for more DSLR's inclusive Oympus, I use Olympus OMD for astrophotography with very good results, I'm fun of ZWO, but should add more support for other DSLR cameras. I also would like to request support for Olympus Micro Four Thirds camera bodies. These cameras are perfect for Astrophotography, being smaller, lighter weight and offering more effective magnification. Yes, you have the ASI294MC and ASI1600MM, but many of us would like to be able to use our existing OM camera bodies for this great hobby. I can't imagine that creating drivers for OM cameras is much different from those for Canon and Nikon - please give this development for ASIAIR Plus a priority. Thanks!

Adding my support for this request as well.

If you can't support the Olympus / OMD cameras fully, at least open up the DSLR port for exposure and interval control as well as Dithering.

+1 on opening the DSLR port for shutter control and dithering.

UI-wise the user can select a new 'camera' type labeled IDK, 'intervalometer'? and instead of the usual settings you'd see it'd just be # of frames, shutter duration, delay between frames, initial delay. For integration with dithering, just add a new IF condition in the code for the new camera type such that dithering will track the new variable and continue the picture taking loop once the mount has settled from dithering.

This change will make the ASIAir "compatible" with a LOT of cameras and increase your user base. Will it eat into ZWO camera sales? Not really - we all know the limits of DSLR/MILC camera sensors, and the sooner users hit that limit, the sooner they will buy ZWO cameras. ZWO can even have a new income vertical by producing the 2.5mm cables for specific manufacturers, like how you made Canon and Nikon-specific dumb adapters. Win-win-win right?

I do own a Olympus OMDE M1 mark2
Besides that I have six ZWO camera’s.
I still want to be able to use the Olympus with my ASIAIR (I have two) as when I camp out I want to have as little as possible gear with me. Providing the option to use my Olympus would be great.
A lot of outdoor people use Olympus because of the many options, environmental sealing and the low weight. The brand is far from dead since the recent name change. I have been using their top pro series lenses for astrophotography for a long time. I understand you first focus on brands like Nikon, canon and now Sony, but I urge you to now include Olympus.
