ASI071 MC PRO

So I got new camera ASI 071 MC PRO , and I am imagining using ASIAIR and I PAD.

The images are showing as colour on the I PAD but when I down load them to PC ( windows 10 ) and load them into deep sky stacker they show up as grey scale .

Is there anything else I should do to the images to make them colour ?

I look forward to anyone’s help or advice regarding this

Hi Rob,

In order to see color in your images you need to debayer the images first. It sometimes is referred to as demosaicing. See

Thanks for the link to info ,being fairly new to astronomy and Astro imaging I was not aware of debayering . Still getting used to setting the gear up polar aligning etc ASIAIR and ASI cameras plus deep sky stacker and photoshop cc.

ASIAIR will show color image in preview if you are using a color camera and it will output fit file which is B&W, need to be debayered.

I have a new ASI 071. I tested last evening, got only mono images on SkyX software. How do I get color out of this??

The fit file can be debayered in the post processing sofatware, such as MDL, PixInsight.
