I need a lot of familiarization with ASiair. I am having problems and need to practice with it. Since clear night skies are at such a premium these days, I am wondering if playing with it during the day might be an option. Things like guiding won't work and I'm unsure about the EAF focuser. But I hope that I should be able to connect everything and do some practice runs on the sun.
Is there any reason why I can't use ASiair to capture the sun? I have the filters needed to protect the sensor and my eyes.
Hello there,
Welcome to join the ASIAIR world.
We designed the ASIAIR for DSO imaging, yes, we are so proud of it is playing the leading role in this field now.
But as you said, why we can not use it to capture the Sun or other planetaries? Nope, It could be if we do not plan to record a video, just for practice, to know how to use the ASIAIR. That means do the single-frame shooting.
Be careful, use your filters to protect your eyes and the sensor.
Think about this, the Sun is the nearest star, right? From v1.3 you can choose the Sun and GoTo.
I hope you enjoy ASIAIR.
