Last night I was playing around trying to figure out what to shoot images off.
So in the ASIAir "goto" menu it gives all the things you can see and how long it'll be "up" for.
So I started roaming around.
First let me say that I use it's built-in polar alignment routine and I always immediately go to Vega to focus.
There's always a re-centering adjustment but never very much.
I've gone to the Ring Nebula, Dumbbell, M31. Always centered after the 2nd plate solve.
Last night I tried first the Firework Galaxy-NGC6946. It went there. Did it's plate solve routine, re-adjusted and then was "Centered"
But there wasn't anything there?
I took a 30 sec image. Nothing.
120sec nothing but "space". Where as with M31 you can at least see something is there.
Shooting with unmodded Canon T7i, no filter. ISO 800 and 1600. Orion Atlas EQG
I then went to the Heart Nebula. Nothing.
Veil Nebula. Nothing.
NGC 7331. Same.
Before purchasing the ASIAir and the mount, I had imaged NGC 7331 before but manually had to find it, but was able to, and was able to see it with the same setup and 10sec sub.
The fact that the scope/mount is able to center the Ring, Dumbbell, M31 makes me assume it's working properly.
Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks!
Ryan
