EAF on Feathertouch focuser

Hello,

I have installed an EAF on a 2" Feathertouch focuser (for a Newtonian) but I cannot seem to set the focuser tension so it that will consistently raise my image rig, which is an ASI1600M, 5p EFW, OAG w/helical focuser and ASI290 mini). With no weight the EAF moves the focuser in both directions without an issue-- but I must loosen the brake tension on the focuser. However, if I add my imaging rig it won't move properly in both directions. It seems the stepper motor cannot overcome the weight of the camera & accessories and the tension I must set on the FT focuser to hold the weight. I have spend quite a of time trying to tweak the internal brake tension of the focuser with no success. It seems like it should be powerful enough to handle the camera and accessories.

Any ideas on what I can try? Otherwise I will need to return the EAF.

Please try to update the firmaware of EAF.

Ok. I will try that. I have another FT focuser on a refractor, so I think I'll try the EAF on that scope and if I have to i can swap out the focusing mechanism. The refractor's movement is a bit smoother than the newt's. Maybe the issue is the focuser? I will continue to investigate.
