Hi everyone! I've been using the ASI 120MCS for 2 months now, mostly for capturing Moon pics. I know this is supposed to be a planetary camera but I'm just wondering whether is it possible to capture bright DSOs such as the Orion Nebula with this camera. I've tried to experiment with this. The Orion Nebula can be seen through my eyepieces. But I can't seem to view it with this camera attached to my telescope. The display on Firecapture just turns black and I can hardly see any stars :( .Maybe somebody can help me here? And also, is there like a filter that helps in increasing the nebulosity of the DSO?
My rig :
- Celestron TravelScope 70
- LCM Computerized Mount
- ASI 120MCS
Just a beginner here in DSO astrophotography. This is my first dedicated astro camera. Would love to see what this camera is capable of doing :)
