Asiair app keeps crashing HELP!!

So ive just installed a new air and the app on my phone. It connects ok, sees the 224mc guide cam then crashes. Ive tried on a tablet ... same thing happens

Ok solved....needed a firmware update.

I have all working BUT my dslr canon 450D 'exposure failed' message comes up after a single exposure. I set the 224mc as main camera and no problems there so im stuck..

Please help

Hello, I had that issue (exposure failure) too, please check next:

1. your camera in manual (M) mode

2. your camera in BULB mode (exposure)

3. all energy saving settings are off

4. IMPORTANT mirror lock should be OFF, in other case ASIAIR exposure will just lock the mirror, and will not do real exposure (second click).

Mirror lock? Which menu is that in on the airapp? .

I do get a single shot but then the camera just hangs like it saving or something???

I do it in bulb mode but have noticed the exposure time changes to whatever i select in the air app which makes sense.

I will check power saving settings as well.

You can't control it from ASIAIR app, you need to change it in your camera, "Function settings" I believe.

And for example, APT can control it, and all AP apps that can control mirror lock - usually set it to active, to set mirror lock delay and avoid vibration.

Also mirror lock enables 2 click shots, firs click - mirror release, second - it takes the picture. So ASIAIR can do only one shot and it makes mirror up, but not actual shutter release and sensor activation. Looks like that's why you can't get a picture - because it's not made yet so ASIAIR cant download it from camera :) So make sure mirror lock is disabled, and one shot mode is available for ASIAIR.

And sure, we will appreciate if ZWO will include mirror locking and delay for DSLR control in future releases! ;)

Ah yes , i found it. It was already set as disabled. I will check the air app settings later tonight, and give it another go.

Vancoz is correct, however you can use mirror lock up to reduce vibration.

So that Asiair will fire the shutter you have to go into "live view" using whatever button on your camera raises the mirror.

The exposures will then be taken as you have set in Autorun. As your camera is set to B mode Autorun sets the exposure, number of shots and ISO.

I've heard it increases sensor temperature, but it's definitely good trick if vibration is an issue.
