ZWO EAF - No EAF detected - Firmware erase failure

Hello,

I use the ZWO EAF that I just purchased recently. It was working properly (more or less) but last night my APT software reported 'No EAF detected'.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, changed the USB cable by another one, use a single connection to my PC to make sure there is no conflict. I've even tried to make my EAF working with another PC, same issue reports 'No EAF detected' with APT.

I saw that it was possible to upgrade the Firmware so I tried that.

It shows 'C51-Boot'. I was expecting something giving me the name of to EAF device.

When I try to upload FW 3.1.9 from your Website, it failed and returns 'Firmware erase failure' and 'Erase failed!'

Can you please let me know what should I do to solve this issue? It is a recent purchase so what's wrong and how can I solve it?

I have the same issue after trying to update to Firmware 3.1.9 - device shows 51-Boot and Update Status loops into "Write FW error!"

I found the issue: The AC/DC adapter did not provide 4A but through ageing lower power. Replacing it by an 8A 12V adapter I could successfully flash the EAF to the latest Firmware.
