ASIAIR PRO max current 6A??

i just make the order in UK for the new ASIAIR PRO , my question is ! can i use my 12V 15AMP power supply to power the ASIAIR? , becouse say on the manual Power input 12 v max current 6A!.... this is reall ? Max 6 amp

Hello John, yes you're right, the max current of power input is 6A.

can pls explain ! If the max current is 12v 6amp input , were ZwO find the way to get 4 x12v 2,5amp out put with only power supply of 12v 6amp , ??

If I have a power supply of 12v 15amp and connect to asiair , the power supply will only will give 6amp to asiair because asiair will only need 6amp to work,!

if I have 30amp or 50 amp power supply will be the same asiair will only consume 6amp , Exemple: water cup with 10 liters and another with 5liters and do a small hole with the same side on each cup , will flow the same quantity of water in both cups does not matter the cup size ( 5 , 10, 30 liters (amp) , does not make sense 6amp max !?!? Or I don’t understand nothing I Lear about amps, watts, voltage in school :)

Another exemple : a lamp with 100 watts will produce the same light connect on 220v 16amp or connect on 220v 32amp ,

asiair outputs 4 x12v 2,5amp are not real?

Mount need 12v 3 amps

ZwO cooling câmera need 3amp

Dew heat 12v 2,5amp

Dew heat for guide scope 12v 2,5amp

Asiair need 3 amps

It’s 14 amps in total ,

Asiair can covert a 12v 6amp in 12v 14amp output total?!?!

we recommend the max current go through ASIAIR PRO is 6A

higher current may generate more heat and cause the body too hot and melt the plastic plug

so it may be ok for you to draw current like 10A in winter, but you take your own risk

of course, you can use a power supply which can provide more than 6A current

the output is 3A each port, but it doesnot mean you can output 3A with all the port at the same time

you have to know the max draw current should below 6A

I'm using a 12v 10A power supply to power everything, with a 4 way splitter cable at the OTA. I don't power the main camera from the air, or the EAF (why would you especially when the 2600 and 533 need their own power for the cooler). Works flawlessly. I'm just running the dew heaters from the Pro. Devices only draw what they need, you should be all set with your power supply, just try and power the main camera separately where possible due to the extra current draw from the cooling system. Everything else should just work.

ASIAIR PRO’s USB power supply is not enough for ASI6200/ASI2600/ASI533//ASI071MC cameras to work normally, so please use an external 12V power supply, which can be connected to the ASIAIR PRO’s power management as well.
