EAF Backlash

My EAF has what seems to be excessive play - see attached video - Any assistance is appreciated - Thanks!

The backlash which can be calibrate in software.

And when there is more load the backlash also will be more obvious.

The in backlash is 220 steps and the out is 240 steps --that is ridiculously large

Sam or Sean -- is this large amount of backlash considered to be an issue that should be covered by the warranty? The folks at OPT where I purchased the EAF are willing to replace the EAF if ZWO considers this amount of backlash to be a defect covered b the warranty -please respond -- Thank you!

Please make sure the shaft is fixed with screw, connected tightly and the payload cannot be over 5Kg.

The payload is an ASI1600 and EFW -- total weight under 5kg.

The coupling is screwed down tightly on both the EAF and the focus knob.

That is not the issue. When NOT under load, the spindle has about ¼” free play. That free play translates into about a 240 step backlash – that is excessive.

Please confirm that is not within an acceptable tolerance and OPT will replace it for me and ZWO will not have to do anything.
