Hello everyone,
I am wondering whether someone can kindly help me. I tried using ASIAR Pro for the first time last night. My system is:
Saxon HEQ5 Pro
Sky Rover ULT 80 ED Glass Triplet 80mm APO Refractor (focal length 480mm) with a 0.8X Reducer Flattener
ZWO ASI071MC Pro
ZWO ASI 120MM Mini Guider + ZWO 30F4 Guidescope
I precisely orientated the mount towards south (I live in Australia) and tried to PA it with ASIAIR Pro using the default exposure time. After finding 105 stars the software kept running for a minute or so however, in the end it said that plate solving had failed. I increased the exposure time to 2 second but, even after finding over 400 stars the plate solving failed again. Then, I increased the exposure time to 10 seconds which increased the number of stars to over 1400 unfortunately with the same result.
I then used iOptron iPolar to precisely polar align the mount and, using again the ASIAIR application on my iPad, I tried to skew the mount towards the moon however, the mount stopped too far away from pointing to the moon. Since I am using a 0.8 reducer/flattener I changed the focal length from 480mm to 384mm but the plate solving failed again.
Does anyone know why this was happening or what am I doing wrong?
Your help will be much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Xhani
