ASI533MC cooling

I just got a new ASI533MC Pro last night. As a test, a ran a set of darks. I attempted to cool the camera to -10C and it was running at 100% power and only holding -9.5C. Room temp was 25C. My power supply is a 13.7V DC power supply that I use for all of my astro gear.

As a comparison, my ASI1600MM Pro, under the exact same conditions, handles -10C just fine with power to spare.

Is this normal or should I suspect a problem with the TEC cooler?

This is normal.When it runs at 100% power,heat will inevitably generated.And also the cooling effect is realated to your ambient temperature.

On the other way,the ASI533MC Pro can be cooled to below the ambient temperature of 35 ℃,and the ASI1600MM Pro can be cooled to below the ambient temperature of 45 ℃.

OK. Thank you. I did see the difference in the temp drop capability advertised between the two but was shocked that is was so literal. I’d say the 35 degree drop advertised is absolute best case then.
