Hello,
I've just purchased the 183mc Pro and took it out for a spin on Saturday night. The quality of the images was great - but the camera seems to be dropping frames during shooting. I had programmed it to shoot 90s exposures at 160 gain for a total of 90 minutes - should have gotten just shy of 60 subs. When I got back to the system, it had only produced 19 shots. When I looked at the file time stamps, there were large gaps of 10-15 min between some frames.
When I tried to produce some darks - I programmed it to shoot 50 frames @ 90s each - on this one, I set the limit to 50 exposures - before I did not put a limit in. Again, the camera did not produce 50 frames, but rather about 20 frames, with gaps in the time stamps.
On my Nikon DSLR, when I have issues like this it has to do w/ my mis-setting the internal intervalometer on the camera - but on the ASICAP software, from what I can tell, I can't make the same mistake. It seems (or should) know when I finish a shot to go to the next one.
Anyone out there have similar experience?
System Info:
Acquisition software: ASICAP - v. 1.6x
MacOS Catalina (10.15.4)
ASI 183mc PRO
Not that this should matter: Attached to an AT92 refractor.
AutoGuiding with an ASI120mini that's running PHD2 ALONG SIDE ASICAP (both running concurrently - each app was attached to the correct camera via USB3 cables (separately plugged into the Macbook Pro 15")
BTW, the dropped frames w/ the DARKS - the camera was NOT hooked up w/ the ASI120mini... the darks were done on their own later after the shoot.
