Issue with 1.4.4 Update

Hi,

I have been using the old model ASI Air since December 2019 and it has been a game-changer. It is brilliant. However, since the recent last update a few days ago I am running into issues with Polar Alignment.

Plate solving seems to work fine and as normal, but when I do a Polar Alignment the plate solving either does not solve or takes an incredibly long time. Everything was working smoothly before the update.

The version now installed on my iPad Pro is 1.4.4 Firmware 5.81.

Please can you let me know if there is a solution to this issue?

Hey AMG, have you tried to increase the EXP time or gain of your main camera?

Or, please try to confirm if the PS works in the preview mode or not, check the image quality and the detected stars.

Thanks for the reply.

In preview mode, plate-solving works so long as it's not too close to the North Celestial Pole. For example, three nights ago I was imaging close to Deneb and the plate solving was working.

After I updated to the latest firmware the Polar Alignment plate-solving was not functioning.

I have tried altering the gain on the ASI533 and exposure times with no success. Currently, my iPad Pro is running OS13.5.1

Just to reiterate, everything on the ASI Air was functioning perfectly before the recent update. I am also using the older model of the ASI Air which I purchased in November 2019.

Hello Garrick, we have no other reported about the PS in PA, so please try to do an ASIAIR OS restore to check if the prob insists.

Can you let me know how I can do the OS restore. I made a backup copy when I first purchased the asi air.

Is there a way to get back to the previous version on an iPad.

Hey Garrick, here you go https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/manuals/How_to_Restore_ASIAIR_OS.pdf. BUT please backup your images that token before sessions first. You won't be able to recover them after the restoring.

Nope, there is no way to back to previous versions.

The weather has been bad lately and I just test the ASI Air unit after reinstalling the Operating system.

No change. I am still having issues with the polar alignment and another issue with the meridian flip occurred. Meridian flip did not work last night. I had to pause the autorun, and then used "goto" to get to the target. Got back to the target image and then resumed the autorun.

I have opted for polemaster, so I am not too worried about the Polar Alignment now.

I still think the ASI AIR is a fantastic tool, can you let me know when you plan to release the next update. Hopefully, that may resolve some of the issues I am having.

Hey Garrick, recently we are in the raining season, the next release maybe in 2 months later.
