I image with a Focusboss Handy Drive focuser on an refractor. The scope has a Feathertouch rack and pinion mount. The FocusBoss focuser has a clutch so that I can disconnect the Handy Drive motor and turn the focuser knob with my fingers. This is helpful when switching eyepieces or introducing a Barlow or other optics into the optical train.
If I can focus a scope with my fingers while the EAF is connected I'd like to use it on a Dob that also has a Feathertouch focuser. But since I need to be able to focus several eyepieces and Barlows I would prefer not to connect and run the EAF until I am ready to image.
Is that possible?
