Mount orientation when using goto with an object near meridian

When selecting a target for GoTo which is near meridian ( eg within +/- 1 hr RA) it would be nice to have the option to choose the slew direction for the resulting mount orientation, pre or post meridian. At the moment the resulting slew direction appears random and there is no control other than to wait and keep trying periodically to see what happens.

It would also be nice to be able to configure the difference from meridian in degrees or hrs/mins RA that would trigger this option. For example if the target is within 15arc mins, 30, 45 up to say a max of 1hr.

One approach would be to present a popup window asking for input or programming the device so that if target is within the specified distance from meridian then post meridian orientation (OTA east) would be used by default.

Sorry it is very hard to achieve, a few mounts connected by EQMOD may be able to achieve this function.

Ok understood though I am already using HEQ5 with EQMODE so that already was my starting point.

Can you in the meantime provide the app logic that is currently used to determine slew direction? Thanks
