ASI AIR power supply to 294 Cooler

Could ZWO confirm whether the Asi Air can supply sufficient power via one of its 12v output ports to operate the cooler on a ASI 294mm cooled camera as long as the overall output is less than 6 amps from all 4 ports, or would it be more preferable to supply the 294 cooler with a dedicated 12v 3amp supply as stated in the manual?

This is what ZWO advise to do.
Max 12V per output is 3A, Max total for 12V hub is 6A, which is why ZWO advise to use a 5A/6A max 12V power adpater.
normally, from ASIAir manual: ASI533 、ASI2600 、ASI6200 need individual 12V power supply to work.
This supply is from ASIAir 12V output hub.
ASI294MC-P is not on the list (most likely out post redaction of ASIAir manual), but powering from 12V hub would prevent USB hub issues draining to much voltage.

Thanks for that info. yeah i agree that it would be wise to power the 294 via a separate power source. my reason for asking the original question is because I have an AVX mount which other users have stated that it is ok to power via APP but it is rated @ 3.5a in the Celestron manual. I've powered the mount with the APP and it works fine but prefer to power the mount separately. If i was to power the 294 cooler as well (and a dew heater) via APP, then I think it could overload the APP. I've constructed a separate power supply unit so looks as though i'll need to add another 12v cigarette lighter socket to power the mount / the AirPro and the 294 cooler!

In your case, I would use 2 outlets from your setup:

1 for the AVX mount
1 for the ASIAir Pro -> EAF, ASI294MC-P, Dew-heater.

Your AVX most likely barely suck about 3A only in fast GoTo mode, than probably about 1A while guiding only when RA/Dec are solicited.
Dew heater should not go up to more than 2A, ASI294MC-P should be well within the 3A even with cooling at 75% (advised not to go higher, as Peltier cooler are the weak device in cams...) So if you get your -10deg or -15 deg within this 75% range, you should be plenty fine.

sebriviere Many thanks sebriviere. Yep i've checked the amperage of the AVX when slewing both Dec/RA at max speed and its less than 2A. When powering both the AAP (asi290+dew heater@max + TPLink box - all connected) and the AVX, the total amp draw is about 2.5-2.8A (3.2A when slewing AVX), so to power the 294 cooling via one of the 12v outlets of the AAP shouldn't be an issue as long as the total draw on the APP is <6A. I actually don't have the ASI294 yet but just wanted to ensure power connections would be fine. So as you indicated 2 separate supplies - (AVX + AAP). Once all are connected I'll keep check on the ammeter readings.
