New to the ASI family with two issues (294mc & 174mini)

I'm moving from CCD to CMOS, I have chosen the 294mc pro & 174mini for guiding.
issue 1: I run my USB3 cable from my computer to a USB3 powered hub on my scope. I plug the 294 into the hub. I then plug the 174 into the 249. My computer does not see the 294! So I end up running two separate USBs to my computer.
issue 2: The 174 mini has been ( lack of a better term ) locking up. Meaning the downloaded image does not change. When I'm panning to center up a good guide star, the displayed image does not refresh. Even if I shut down the application & restart it. the same image reappears. I can move the scope to a different FOV & the same image comes back.
I'm running Win7pro x64. I have downloaded the ascom drivers for the web site.
I can live with issue 1. But issue 2 is not good, & I need to find a way to deal with it.

I initially had problems with my 294mc and determined it was due to the USB cable. I also have a powered hub on my scope. I purchased a pair of new "high quality" cables from Monoprice, and one of them was defective. One worked fine, but the other caused the camera to drop the connection, or lock up. The same cable worked fine for other purposes, so maybe the camera is sensitive to cable quality. If you haven/t already, I suggest you try several cables. Also, don't assume the hub is ok. Try different sockets, and also try connecting the 294 directly to the computer.
