ASIAIR Pro saving files with incorrect time

My ASIAir Pro is saving the image files with the incorrect time. They seem to be around 4 hours ahead of my local time here. The ASIAIR Pro in the application seems to know my local time correctly because I can see it up in the upper left hand corner and it is correct but when it saves them they are off. Any ideas how to correct this and make it correct?

I believe the ASIAIR time tag uses the underlying OS' default time (UTC). Files created on the ASIAIR hardware will be tagged with UTC. Perhas your local time is 4 hours from UTC?

I think the ASIAIR app gets that time from your tablet, not from the ASIAIR itself. FWIW, I would have liked that time in the corner to be in Local Sidereal Time myself. Much easier to figure out when an object passes the Meridian without resorting to checking the AutoRun setup window.

Chen thanks for the explanation. After seeing your comment I went back and reviewed the timestamps on the files closer and in fact as you stated the time difference is exactly the difference between UTC and my local time. So the Time tag value seems to be UTC coming from the RaspbianOS. Then the next question is can we adjust or set the time to write the local time for the Time tag?

At the Terminal level, you can do that in MacOS X through the Unix "SetFile" command. You can also do that through Cocoa framework calls -- a few lines of code can do a bulk time change for multiple files.

There is probably something equivalent in Windows.

Why not just keep UTC? If you find some new discoveries (for example new comet or asteroid), you would want to report it as UTC, anyway. Albeit, the FITS header will also contain the correct UTC time.

Yeah, ASIAIR thinks it is located at Greenwich in Winter (DST off). Perhaps you can feed back to them and ask for a user definable location. But given their record with Daylight Saving Time, it might be messed up in Summer, anyway.
