There is a lot of misunderstanding about whether the ASIAIR can power a 2600 or other new large format cooled cameras. Here’s a quote from ZWO’s ASIAIR Pro description:
- “Note：ASIAIR PRO’s USB power supply is not enough for ASI6200/ASI2600/ASI533//ASI071MC cameras to work normally, so please use an external 12V power supply, which can be connected to the ASIAIR PRO’s power management as well.”
The AIR’s USB power alone can’t fully supply the 2600’s cooling system. But if you run a separate 12v line from the AIR’s power ports it can. You just have to have 2 connections between the AIR and the 2600: USB for data and a 12v line for cooling power.
I run my 2600mc at -20 deg C directly from my AIR all night long, no problem.
