Is my lens too heavy to attach to my ASI1600 MMC

I just purchased a Nikon adapter and a 78mm camera holder ring so that I could use my EFW to image with my ASI 1600mmc, My heaviest lens is a 200mm F2.8 Zoom lens. It is about 20 cm long and weighs 1.4 kg. It looked like that much weight applied that far away from the T threads might distort the camera casing. Might that be a problem.

Thanks for the first reply, but see photo immediately prior in this thread. Looks to me like a lot of weight hanging off the front of the camera.

Why not mount the lens, and have the camera hang off the back? Much lighter load supported.

I've been mounting the lens as you describe, because it seems safer. I've seem other rigs with 2 camera rings (one on the camera and one on the lens, but 2 rings wouldn't work with this lens, because focus and zoom controls both rotate. I'd like to know if ZWO has ever examined weight or moment limits for the camera ring.
