ASI 4562MC Driver not installed in Device Manager

I have a Windows 10 PC and the driver for my new ASI 4562MC shows a conflict in the Device Manager with a code 28. Clicking update driver for the directory in the ZWO_USB_Cameras_driver folder does not make Windows find it. Initially, nothing happened but second or third time, Windows found the device. It looked okay but after scanning the hardware for changes, the error message came up. The camera is not recognized by ASI Studio or Firecapture either. I have tried two different cables, two different USB ports. I have disabled the driver, turned off antivirus. Running out of ideas. My ASI 290MM works fine, just this new camera. Hmm, well it works on my older laptop, just not on my new ASUS TUF Gaming Laptop. Driver was freshly installed in late Nov. and then updated last night. Dunno.

Thanks for the advice but the problem is not solved. After I ran the agent, I tried to manually update the driver to the driver directory folder again since the Windows conflict was still there. I also downloaded the new ASI Studio but does not see the camera either. Any other advice? Thanks again.

Since you mentioned it is ASUS TUF Gaming Laptop, I assume it is not pure Win10 OS. Maybe there is conflict just don't know what it is.

It is not using https://tracker.pureos.net/w/faq/ . It has an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor with Radeon Graphics 2.9 Hz and NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1660 TI. On other programs, sometimes the graphics seems to switch over. I installed the Directshow optional driver but still isn't recognized. Could it be graphics related?

OS is Windows 10 Home v20H2 build 19042.685

Pure Win10 OS means Win10 official ISO from Microsoft. Your laptop is ASUS, so it is Win10 OEM and may contain some driver or software installed by ASUS, not sure if this cause the conflict.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. It just seems odd that the ASI 290MM works fine but this successor camera, ASI 462MC won't be recognized. It also recognizes my ASI120MC-S so it can recognize color cameras. So, it seems that the 462MC driver and how it communicates with the camera and/or OS is different from these other two older cameras, right? Is there some kind of backwards compatibility that can be added to the new camera for example?

If it is just this particular camera on this particular laptop, then this unique compatibility issue is hard to deal with.

Apologies for resurrecting and older thread but was this issue resolved? I have the exact same issue as the original poster.
I'm also using Windows 10 Pro (version 20H2) on a HP Envy2 laptop. The recent ASI v3.0.0.16 drivers appear to install correctly, however when I connect the camera it only appears as 'other device' and not as an imaging camera.
I've tested on another laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad 10) running on Windows 10 Pro (version 2004) and everything works correctly.

What kind of processor/graphics do you have - mine is AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with Radeon Graphics 2.90 GHz? I wonder if my laptop's hardware might be causing an issue with this new camera. My older ZWO cameras work fine.

I'm starting to think it may be hardware related. The HP Envy2 uses an ARM Snapdragon 835 processor.
I was going to try and roll Windows back to version 1909 or 2004 but it's passed the 10 day limit now so I'm stuck on 20H2.
I've tried starting Windows with driver signing disabled and set Windows to developer mode to allow any installation from any source but it still will not recognise the ASI drivers. I've also tried using the ASI driver version v3.0.0.10 and V3.0.0.16.
I've been reading around and it's possible v3.0.0.9 might work, but I can't find a copy of those drivers anywhere.

Hey! did this ever get solved? I have the exact same issue with an ASUS TUF gaming laptop as well. ASUS is revealing itself to be literal trash with this product 🙁

Thought I would share that I couldn't get my ASI 294MC Pro to show up in Windows 10 (Razer laptop), Windows 11 (Surface Go2), or MacBook Pro (M1 Max) when I used a 2A 12V power supply. When I switched over to 3A, the camera showed up in all 3 machines above. Hope this helps others.
