ASI294MM-Pro - Expanded Mode (a pre-buyer question)

Hi Sam & Co,

If and when the expanded bit feature is released, will previously purchased 294's be able to operate in this mode? And if so, will that feature be exposed through a driver/ firmware upgrade for both PC/ Mac and ASIAIR Pro users? In addition, will the existing and expanded bit modes be easily switchable, back and forth, as applications warrant?

Yes，all the ASI294MM can be update to unlock bin supported mode

For PC/MAC ,recommend upgrade to the new ASIstudio
For ASIAIR&Pro ，update to the new version

This is not recommended.

I have a couple of followup questions.

1) by "updating to the new version" you mean updating the ASIAIR Pro's firmware and IOS app, and not buying a second version of ASIAIR Pro?

2) When switching to expanded bit mode, will the camera operate at 12 or 14 bit?
