I got a used ASI120MC at a swap meet last year to try it out as an inexpensive guide camera. I tried it, and it works, but I haven't used it a lot since. I had noticed that the system said it is a monochrome ASI120MM, not the MC version., but didn't really care at the time because monochrome was fine for what I was doing.
Recently I wanted to see what it looks like as a planetary imager, and noticed this again, but would like color for this, if it really is a color camera.
This computer is a Dell XPS-15 computer with USB-3 ports running Windows 10:
Windows 10 Pro
Version 1903
OS Build 18362.592
Driver Provider: ZWO
Driver Date: 8/17/2019
Driver Version 1.0.1.1
The same is true on an old Windows 7 Dell laptop, but in the case of that computer, the camera was recognized as ZWO ASI120MM before the driver was loaded, but after installing the driver, the camera does not work at all using either the computer's USB-2 or USB-3 ports. The device properties status report is "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".
Windows 7 Professional
Version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)
Driver Provider: ZWO
Driver Date: 8/19/2020
Driver Version 1.0.1.10
Updating the camera firmware made no difference. I saw the 120MC firmware was a choice and picked that, but the update app refused. After selecting the 120MM firmware, it succeeded.
Do I have a 120MM camera in 120MC case?
