I wrote some software using the SDK that gathers images in video mode. I use autoexposure, with a maximum of 60 seconds.
I use the ASI224MC, ASI178MM, and ASI178MC cameras with a 1.55mm FL fisheye lens. With this lens, the corners of the sensor are not illuminated and are very dark. See the photo below. At night, autoexposure works fine. In the day, the middle of the picture is a little overexposed.
If I were to run the camera with a square ROI in the middle of the sensor, would the autoexposure software in your cameras just use the ROI for determining exposure? Or will the camera always use the full sensor to determine ROI?
