Thanks to a great post by @w7ay, I finally get the basics of how guidescope calibration works with the AIR Pro. It starts by using Calibration Step time to perform "steps" until the scope is moved 25 pixels. Then reverses back to start. The display shows the step count and pixel count so you know exactly how well its working (@w7ay recommends setting calibration step so that it takes 12-20 steps to reach 25 pixels.
But, the next step is "Clearing Backlash" which is just a counter. Sometimes on my CEM70 it takes 3-4 steps then moves on the EAST/WEST. Other times I've had it take 40 or 50 and I finally just kill it and try again.
Questions: What does Clearing Backlash do? Does it calculate backlash on both axes or use one? If one, which one? Support@ZWO: Why is there no feedback? If it works, great. It it doesn't work, no clue as to how big a problem or what is the problem?
