I downloaded the latest firmware package for the ZWO cameras along with the required "VS2008 SP1 redistributable" package. Installed the VS2008 and even restarted just in case, Still getting the following error "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail."
The camera upgrade doc, "https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/manuals/ZWO%20Camera%20FW%20Upgrade%20Manual.pdf" makes a reference to this error and tells you to download and install package from MS. The link provided (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5582) no longer works and there's no mention to what it actually is. I'm guessing it's the VS2008 package though.
Either way, I can't seem to get the firmware installer to run.
