GonzaloTancredi What I need is a camera working continuously and sending the signal to the PC via USB, like a CCTV camera.
If you can be at the computer to start the video mode in ASIcap, there appears to be no limit to the number of frames that it captures until you stop it manually. (Click on the button with an icon that looks like a video camera, instead of scheduling an AutoRun).
How much the camera heats over a long duration is a different story. You just need to try it to see if the noise suffers substantially. I use a ASI178MC as an all sky camera and a ASI178MM Cooled for solar H-alpha, but don't use video mode with either of them.
