I have an ASI2600MC (color) camera and I am trying to find best practice for using light pollution filters and other filters in the imaging train. My question is should the filter be as close to the camera as possible? If so, do the nosepiece adapters that came with my camera (42mm/42mm and 42mm/48mm) have inside threads that will accept filters? Are they designed for that? It looks like the inside threads are about 1.5" which would be either 38.1mm or it may be 36mm? Can anyone confirm are those adapters designed to accept threaded filters and still attach to the imaging train? If so, what size are the inside threads so I can purchase the correct filter size?
