I have encountered a problem with the ASIAir Pro connected to my EQ6-R Pro mount with EQMOD.
Using the default settings for meridian flip timing, the telescope starts to slew, but the ASIAir starts to take and image to verify location while it is slewing.
The telescope gets close to its flipped position, but by now the ASIAir routine is locked up and the only way to get out is to cancel the meridian flip. In so doing, the ASIAir ceases to be able to control the mount any longer. An image at the location shows that the telescope has stopped tracking, and is some way off its flipped position.
I can’t switch the tracking back on, and have to reboot both ASIAir and telescope back at the home position.
I have checked to see whether the USB cable is loose in the mount (going from E to W puts the cables on the underside of the mount). It was a little but now I have secured it firmly the problem still exists.
This has only started happening recently, before it worked like a dream. I am pretty sure this worked after we (Nee Zealand) had gone to daylight saving this summer, so I don’t believe it is due to that. (Although if anyone recognises these symptoms as part of that issue, I would be keen to here if it).
The easier fix is to do this manually, but waiting up until a meridian flip at 2am is pretty hard. Otherwise the robustness of the system would let me securely in the knowledge the rig would keep running through the night.
Many thanks
