Hello,
I hope someone here can help me. I recently just upgraded to a new ASI290mm Mini guide camera from a Risingtech/Touptech with the same chip/sensor. With the Risingtech I was able to guide with PHD 2 and image with SharpCap and I was using CPWI as the mount interface. I was very pleased with the consistent guiding I had. I’ll attach an image showing the guiding below.

When I use my new 290mini guide camera I can connect to my laptop go thru my normal procedure in SharpCap and PHD 2 but the guiding is extremely eradic (all over the place) RMS as bad as 4.0”, Plus SharpCap will not stack and sometimes locks up to the point that I need to close out and come back in to be able to work with it.
Besides the camera difference the only thing that is different is the connection cables. The 290 mini uses the USB type c cable/connection and the Risingtech/Touptech uses the standard usb 2 connection. (See the pix below). I have tried both cables that come with the 290 mini as well as the ST4 cable with no luck. I also bought a high speed data transfer cable to make sure that it wasn’t the other cables giving me the issue. All 4 give me the same result.
I have updated all my drivers in my laptop, downloaded the newest ZWO drivers as well as the USB C drivers in my laptop with no luck. I’m completely stumped and don’t know where to go from here other then go back to the Risingtech/Touptech which I DO NOT want to do.
Any help would be most appreciated as I love my ZWO cameras and am looking at an ASI2600mc Pro in the near future.
Thanks!
Dale
