I bought the ASI 1600 MM PRO on July21st 2020.
I recently started having big issues with it. There seems to be a problem with the sensor or the electronics.
My dark frames have weird checkerboard patterns with mean of 500 (16 bit) although I'm using 50 offset (12 bits) which is impossible. Attached are images of darks I took before with the camera and darks I took recently, same gain, temperature, exposure time and magnification. This thing happened suddenly while the camera was stored safely during winter.
Unfortunately I cannot currently test with real images but it's very obvious that something is terribly wrong
Here are the things I've tried:
-5 different USB cables-Different Laptop and PC-Different capture software-Different power supplies -with and without power supply.-Different USB limit, gain, and offset-Tried ZWO driver and ascom
Nothing worked.
the issue seems to reduce a bit when not cooling, although I'm still getting weird patterns but less (probably thermal noise is hiding the pattern)
Any ideas?
