Hi,
After not really being motivated to drill holes into the focuser of my GSO-RC10, I decided to CAD design and 3D print my own adapter. Just finished it (after some intermediate iterations - welcome to 3D printing ;-). It seems to work, but still needs to be confirmed unter the stars. The material is PLA for now for the first tests. I would prefer PETG, but I had issues with the large area of support structures (see first photo)... might try this later. It was printed on a PRUSA i3.
It was designed in a way that I will be able to use both the original thumb screw and the EAF.
I hope it will work... keep you posted. See photos below for details. Here two time-lapsed videos of the working system in action: Video #1 - Link / Video #2 - Link
Obs30 đź‘‹ hello
Can please share with me the 3d models files
Hi! This is really interesting. I'm waiting for my GSO to arrive and would like to be able to use the ZWO focuser, as I have an AsiairPro and other ZWO equipment. But before I buy one I need to know if it will work somehow.
Please, would you be willing to sell the CAD so I can print one for me or even sell me a printed part?
Thanks for the great idea.
Best, Marcos, Brazil.
marcosjpin Hi, I could Provider you with the STL, STEP, IGS files…
ttrostel marcosjpin Hi, I could provide you with the STL, STEP, IGS files… The EAF works great on the RC10. Always sharp stars when seeing permits.
You might also consider using ASA as a printing material since its more suited to use outdoors.
ttrostel I work with PLA, PETG and PC so far. Have not tried ASA. PETG and PC are very good for outdoor applications as well.
Obs30 Hi, I'm interested in your files, as I'm in the same situation...
Hi. Thank you. Glad you like it. I can upload the files later this week and post the link in this forum.
Obs30 Thanks a lot, that would be awesome!
Below the google drive link to a zip file with the design in three different CAD formats:
I printed the adapter with a PRUSA printer and PETG filament. The design of the CAD file is optimised for the shrinkage of PETG with this 3D printer. This might change when you are using a different printer and/or different material.
Good luck!

Obs30 can you upload that to printables or thingyverse? Thanks

Thank you for sharing
Did you try the link above?
