ASI2600MM camera glass

Hi,

Can someone confirm the built-in glass in asi2600mm? Is it broadband or ir-uv cut??
I.e. is an external uv-ir cut filter required??

It is broadband. If you do not use any filter with that camera at all then an UV/IR cut filter probably is wanted, especially if you image with a refractor since they have poor corrections for IR and UV. If you use any LRGBHaOIIISII filter then you don't need an additional UV/IR filter.

I am testing the camera with ZWO adapter on Canon 200mm f2.8 lens. (No filterwheel). I'll add a UV-IR cut (luminance) filter to the filter drawer in the adapter.

Hallo Gert,
Sounds like a cool project. You may want to consider putting 2" R, G, B, Ha, OIII or SII filters in the slider. That would be really cool on the Milky Way 🙂 Plus you won't need the UV/IR cut filter. Note that using an ASI2600MM will yield monochrome images and the only way to get color images would be to use a combination of those filters.
