Bypass Celestron AVX handcontroller

Hello ,

WOuld it possible to use asiair with bypassing the celestron avx hand controller ?
That will really simplify setting up and running the image session.

Need to use the handle for calibration, the operation process is prompted in the mount panel.

I thought about this today, what would happen if you did skip the controller. Just index mount, and tell ASIAIR mount ready. ASI does plate solving and polar alignment.
I wonder if the mount trips out. I thought about trying tonight

The hand controller is needed because, I think, it's how communication can be made with Celestron mounts.

My HEQ5 Pro can be directly connected with an EQMOD/EQDIR cable because the the chip on the mount supports it.

It's really a hardware thing. I'm probably not explaining it properly.

If you plug your ASIAIR directly into your AVX mount, it will mess up the electronics in your mount. Bypassing the HC on an AVX is not supported by either ZWO or Celestron.
