I've been having issues with ASIAir Go To function not finding and centering. I've tested on two camera, ASi585MC and my Nikon D5100 APS-C. I've had issues with Go To feature on both cameras. After I got the ASIAir and concentrated on the 585. I'm using it on a C8 with AVX mount. Little did I know that I've found out the minimum FOV for plate solving is supposed to be 0.2° My 585 is 0.31° x 0.18° at F/10. With the 6.3 its 0.5 x 0.28 just barely in spec. The D5100 sensor is much bigger similar to an ASI071 sensor but Go To is still unreliable.
Maybe its the time that is synced between the AVX and ASIAir. I've read several scenarios of start up routines. Start up the mount and do a Quick Align then power up the ASIAir. Another is the same but don't connect to the handset. After the ASIAir starts up then connect the handset. Another is start the AVX mount to the Handset prompt to start alignment then power on the ASIair then go back to the handset to check time, date, lat, long and then choose an alignment, Quick Align. Just playing with the mount and the ASIAir no matter which procedure I always show the correct time between the handset and the ASIAir. If I power every thing down and start up the AVX and change the time to a future time then start up the ASIAir, go into the Mount section it will show the same future time. So the handset tells the ASIAir the time.
I think I will have to give up using the ASIAir with my planetary camera. But in two nights using D5100 it worked one night and the next night it didn't.
