Thank you for this post. It's good to know someone actually got this to work.
I downloaded and installed on a new SD card a version of the disk image that ZWO had previously directed me to on their Google Drive site. It didn't work - no beep or response of any kind. I even stayed up till past 6 AM one night last week with a tech support person from ZWO trying to help, but still nothing.
So maybe the SD card is bad somehow...to check this I copied the disk image from the original SD card that comes with the AAP device and put it on my new SD card - that seemed to work, as in at least the device beeped. So I figured something was wrong with the disk image I downloaded for the EQ6-R mount.
I then noticed the sticky ZWO put up about this issue at the head of this forum, and they include a link to the new disk image. So, encouraged by your post, I downloaded it again and put it on my new SD card and......and this time it seems to have worked. The device beeps, and I could connect to the hotspot via my phone, and control the mount. I still have it in my living room as I'm trying to learn how to use it - right now I'm having trouble connecting the AAP to my home internet but I have a signal booster to try and maybe that will solve the problem.
I don't know if ZWO changed the disk image or initially sent me to the wrong one or it somehow got corrupted during or after the download, but it's a big relief to get over this hurdle and move on to the next one.
