Is there a way, other than using your own objects in search history, to add to/expand the database available in ASIAIR? Can a program on my iPad interface with ASIAIR?????

You can use SkySafari on your iPad to interact with ASIAir. The iPad and the ASIAir need to be in the same network for this to work. So if you use the ASIAir in WIFI mode, you need to connect your iPad to that WIFI network.

I've wondered about this as well. It would be great if ASIAIR supported importing custom object catalogs, especially for lesser-known nebulae, comets, or user-defined targets that aren't included in the default database.
For those using SkySafari with ASIAIR, can you search for and slew to objects that are not present in the ASIAIR database but are available in SkySafari's catalogs? If so, that seems like a useful workaround for expanding the list of available targets without having to rely solely on search history.
