Hi Sam,

I'm aware of the isochronous streaming problem cause by usb3 (and that Intel simply choose to ignore the problem...).

That being said, my capture pc is only equiped with usb3 ports with no possibilities of adding a pci card (Dell XPS One 27). I was able to get the camera working under Firecapture 2.2 and the asi drivers. That setup was working at full speed even with the use of a 15' usb extention cable.

With 2.3b and the sdk it does not. From what i understand, after some research on the web, it seems that it might be possible to disable the drivers for them usb3 ports from within the bios or simply from the device manager in Windows depending on one's pc. By doing so, all usb3 ports would actually behave as usb2 ports.

I would like to avoid this solution as when i capture with the camera, the data is saved directly on a usb3 portable drive...

My question is, do you have any suggestion for a workaround ?

I have the same basic questions. When I upgrade laptops, it will very likely only have USB 3. A desktop is not a possibility.

Are there known "good" and "bad" USB 3 hardware configurations?

Is there something specific (other than USB 2) that I should look for in the new imaging computer to know it will work with the camera?

do you mean the driver cann't be installed properly?

there are very few USB3.0 port have such problem.

I only see Etron USB3.0 host so far

also,there is a way to make it more compitable.

just need to update the firmware.

the firmware update tool I don't want it to be open because misuse may damage the camre forever.

Hi, actually, here is what I figured out: I use a Samsung Ultrabook which has 2 USB2 and one USB3 port. In FC2.3beta and using the 16bit option for long exposures, USB2 fails to load the frame after about 10-20 single frames and FC stops working until I replug the camera. Changing to USB3 does the trick of loading dozens of frames without any error. So, USB3 is the right choice for me.
