I see you used the cap from a lens and cut out a hole then glued it onto another part that had a t-mount thread. I need to find that threaded part and I'll try doing the same. Great idea!

so does it let you achieve infinity focus?

yes the focus to infinity is possible either directly on the lens is slightly unscrewing the ring M42

great little tweak! Do you see any possibility to add a filter tray for LRGB imaging?

I Can keep the IR filter or color in the camera for mounting the ring, but unscrew the camera to change the filter...

As someone also interested in this approach, I found on Ebay some T ring extension tubes. About $5 USD for 3 piece set.

I'm hoping to take a 7MM and 14MM(??) and with thin washers couple them through the cap.

I got old Oly OM Zuiko Lenses as well, a 70/210mm a 50mm and a 28mm.

I connect them to the ASI120MC with this adapter:

This is for canon lenses, I add then an e-bay Canon Oly converter
