Hello, I have just bought an ASI 2600mm PRO. I have started to test this camera using my narrow band filters. This is my configuration: Takahashi 102 – reducer to F6 = 612 mm Astronomik filters: Luminance + H + O +S (all of them 6 nm) GAIN = 0 OFFset = 50 Exposure =300 seconds T = -10 ºC Software = NINA (using ASI driver) My problem is simple, I have halos around brighter stars. (with my old Cam I did not get this halos) These halos appear in H, O, S and lightly in L Please, have a look to the pictures and let me know what can I do?? Thanks a lot Carlos Luminance H-Alfa S2 O3
Do you have the halos as well without the filters? If not, it's the filters and you may need to change them. Having said that, I used to have halos with Astronomik filters as well, though not as large as yours. I found out by shining a remote control at the camera that the filters don't block IR very well and I added an L3 filter to block IR. That helped.
+1 for the Astronomik L3 filter. I used the L2 before and have noticed an improvement in the halos
hi wvreeven and elpajare. I will check what happen without filters and let you know Thanks a lot
