Sun in H-Alpha 03/07/2021

Lujafer, that is an excellent image of the sun with your Lunt scope. I also have a Lunt LS50THa/B600, but I have not been able to bring the sun into focus. I use an ASI462MC camera. My focuser runs out of travel before the sun is in focus. Could you give me some pointers how to get the object in focus with the Lunt LS50Tha?

Is it that you can't rack the focuser out far enough? If that is the case, you might need an extension adapter.

What I do is screw the Zwo Asi 174mm camera directly onto the diagonal / B600 alpha filter. Then I separate the diagonal /B600 alpha filter from the focuser a few millimeters.
Try trying this setting.

Lujafer and Johnpd,

I tried what Lujafer suggested and it worked perfect! I had to pull the diagonal about 12 mm out of the focuser. I did not realize that I had to rack it out instead of in, although I had tried that before with no success. So thank you for your suggestions! All I have to do now is to get the camera settings right so I can see the details. Today we did not have good clear skies here in Idaho due to smoke from the California fires. But it was good enough to see the sun and get it in focus and even see a sun spot.
