Did you try using an unpowered USB2 hub between the CEM40 USB2-B port and an ASIAIR USB2-A port?

johnpd Yep. used to work fine with the ASI2600 hub, but i've also tried with three other hubs, and two cables.
Only works on the older firmware. I updated again to the new version and again it broke.
I have the first generation CEM40EC with the thin counterweight shaft. I am having a nightmare of a time trying to get sustained connection to ASIAir (original and Pro). It keeps losing connection to the mount. I have the latest mount firmware. I have tried connecting it via camera hub and now I am testing via a high quality powered USB3 hub. Both don't work consistently. Some nights it would work flawlessly and some nights it would just randomly drop connection. I have tried so many USB cables, I have purchased really expensive USB cables too. I don't face these issues on the PC
I think I have found something, but I am not sure of this. If I attempt to connect the mount directly to the ASIAir, it causes issues that won't go away even when I connect th emount to a windows PC. Reflashing the firmware clears these problems. So it seems pluggin the mount directly to the USB port of the ASIAir is "possibly" causing issues with the mount firmware
hkindy Hello. Please try to connect the USB cable of the Mount to the USB hub port of the main camera.
I have found that controlling the mount while directly connected to the ASIAir causes issues with the mount firmware. Reflashing the mount firmware and then connecting to ASIAir via USB hub fixes the problem.
I never reflashed the mount firmware but used the USB 2.0 hub from day one and got it working. There was actually a guy that put out a YouTube video showing the problem. I would like to try the USB 2.0 port on my ASI533MC Pro to see if that works.
