ASIAIR Pro Control of AZ-GTi Mount via EQMOD USB Cable

I'm having a strange problem with me setting up my ASIAIR Pro to control my AZ-GTi mount in AZ mode using an EQMOD cable.

The SynScan Pro app is working properly and I have no issues controlling my mount via wifi, however when I move to the ASIAIR Pro and try controlling the mount manually when pressing left it moves left, but when pressing right it still goes left. If I increase the speed to 600x, pressing left will move the mount right and pressing right will move the mount left.

With that said, when I have the ASIAIR Pro move the mount to an object, it ends up getting confused and can't move properly to the object, but if I then connect to the mount directly and use the SynScan Pro app it works just fine.

Hi,

I've connected the cable and selected the EQMod Mount type with Serial set and a baud rate of 9600. No errors are being displayed there.

One change I made yesterday was that I downgraded my mount from version 3.26 to version 3.20. This made it so that the ASIAIR Pro can command the mount to move reliably.

Now my problem is that after doing a single-star alignment with the SynScan Pro software, I can use the SynScan Pro to select a target, however when I go to the ASIAIR Pro and select the same target it doesn't move to the correct position.

I had some time to check things between the ASIAIR Pro and the SynScan Pro app and figured out that the ASIAIR Pro is trying to control the AZ-GTi as an equatorial mount instead of an AZ-EL. I only have the AZ-EL firmware installed on the AZ-GTi, but the ASIAIR Pro insists on controlling it as an EQ mount.

How do I specify in the ASIAIR Pro to control it as an AZ-EL mount instead of an EQ mount?

You should choose "alt az" on ASIAIR and horizon mode in SynScan App.

After much frustration, I've reset everything on my ASIAIR Pro and my Sky-Watcher AZ-GTi mount in an attempt to get this working again in Alt-Az mode.

I've upgraded the firmware on my AZ-GTi mount to the latest version (3.36) and verified my ASIAIR Pro is updated to the latest version as well (v1.9-9.53).

I first confirmed that my AZ-GTi mount is functioning properly using the SynScan Pro app (up moves it up, down moves it down, left moves it left, and right moves it right).

In the ASIAIR Pro app (on Android), I've selected the SkyWatcher AZ-GTi/SynScan WiFi mount and it shows connected.

If I try to manually move the mount, up moves it up and down moves it down, however left moves it right, and right moves it left.

Everything seems to indicate that this is a driver problem in the ASIAIR Pro software and I've been shown that even the StellarMate has a specific AZ-GTi Alt-Az driver for their Raspberry Pi based system -- though I would hate to abandon the ASIAIR Pro platform.

Any help would be greatly appreciated to finally get this working!

Is there a way of selecting az mount in the mount options? There's a thread on stargazerslounge.com where many of help each other with az gti mounts, I use mine in EQ mode via my asiair pro so can't advise on this but others have used it this way.
