Hi , I have a asiair pro with latest upgrade. I fitted the eaf unit to my ED80 the other day and it worked all ok. The focus tube was half out and I watched as it wound back in. Tonight I have it out and the focus setting is 0 with the max at 60000. I entered 20000 to get it half way out and all t will do is move 150 steps at a time. The eaf is saying the firm ware needs upgrading. I am using an ipad and I down loaded the ascom software from your site but it will not upload. Anyway it was working when I set it to a figure fine or course it moved but now if I ask it to move course by 2000 all it does is a small jump. I have closed it down and restarted but no joy. I have used my iphone but its the same. its always worked fine before so whats gone wrong between winding it back in an now asking it to move back out. As you can not move it manually once the eaf is fitted I'm well stuffed. Jay

Turn on the beep (since this is the ASIAIR thread, it is in Focuser Setting > Beep), and see if you hear a double beep from the EAF when you get the short movement. If you do, the EAF is hitting some hard stop (either the drawtube has reached the end, or the EAF motor axis is not co-axial with the OTA focuser's shaft. The slots in the flexible coupler should be perfectly even.
If you do hear a double beep, try reversing the direction (in Focuser Setting > Reverse) from its current setting. And try moving again. The reverse switch may have been reversed by accident.
If you do not hear a double beep, then the EAF may truly need to have firmware installed/reinstalled. You'll need a Windows computer to do that (ZWO is still living in the 20th century). You can also see if your dealer can update the firmware for you if you are running macOS or Linux.

Thanks for reply. The focuser is moving the tube so there no problem there but only small amounts. How do I install firm wear? I have downloaded onto my computer so do I connect a cable from the eaf with power on to the computer?
