Dear sirs,
As previously described for ASICAP (From AsiStudio; latest version versus previous version) my ASI 183MM pro now suffers from important slow-down when using FOV (e.g. 640x480) and exposures (e.g. 10ms or less) compatible for planetary imaging. Previously, the camera behaved without problems as advertised.
Please see message "Slow fps rate in latest version of AsiCap when compared with previous versions." in this forum.
Now, I'm confirming that the issue also occurs in other software (e.g. SharpCap) when comparing latest versions with previous versions where previous ASI/ZWO drivers were used.
Below actual data was obtained with the 183MM pro, 1x1 bin, 1ms exposure so that speed is not compromised...
...............................
latest Sharpcap version, latest ZWO drivers:
full frame 8 bit - 19fps
full frame 16 bit - 10fps
1280x1080 8 bit - 40fps
1280x1080 16 bit - 40fps
640x480 8 bit - 40fps
640x480 16 bit - 40fps
320x240 8 bit - 40fps
320x240 16bit - 40fps
...........................................
Previous SharpCap version 4.07957.0 (previous ZWO drivers):
full frame 8 bit - 19fps
full frame 16 bit - 10fps
1280x1080 8 bit - 70fps
1280x1080 16 bit - 70fps
640x480 8 bit - 150fps
640x480 16 bit -150fps
320x240 8 bit - 270fps
320x240 16bit - 270fps
As can be observed the difference is colossal, seriously compromises the value of the camera as a planetary imager, and markedly deviates from advertised values.
Please revert the situation as soon as possible.
Thanks!
