ASIAIR Pro (AAP) drops StationMode connection

Three nights ago, my AAP upgraded to version 8.11. Since then, the StationMode I had set (and was working fine) has started throwing tantrums. AAP disconnects frequently, and the only choice I have left now is to stand next to my rig in the cold.

Before you suggest it - I do not want to buy another router / extender and/or run a CAT by poking a hole in the wall of my house. Moreover, I've shared enough part my bank with ZWO, and I think they need to fix this).

A perfectly working AAP suddenly started throwing tantrums - which means I had to power recycle AAP after connection loss, and which meant losing the session/leaving it half-way. Three precious dark nights around new moon are gone!

Anyone else noticed the StationMode disconnects? I tried setting up a dedicated 2.4G network, and ASIAIR refuses to authenticate (incorrect password) - and I even had my kids and wife enter the password to ensure I am not fat-fingering it. I am connecting (was connecting) via iPad 12 Pro running iOS 14.6.

Here are the steps to reproduce this:

Start AAP, connect to the ASIAIR network.
Launch AAP app. Click on the WiFi icon to go to network settings.
Click on the StationMode menu, and enable StationMode on.
From the list of 2.4G networks, select the one, and enter the password (I did connect to one last night - only once).
If you select a new SSID - you will be asked to enter the password, and will get an error "Incorrect Password".
Select the SSID you have been using in the past - it connects (half the times - else it keeps thinking).
If you connect to the 2.4G network in StationMode - then follow the next steps:
Go to Wifi setting on your iPad/tablet - and change your Wifi from ASIAIR to the 2.4G network you've selected.
Go back to ASIAIR app. At this point - the "Auto Reconnect" message will display.
Click on the "Scan" button - it won't show / identify the ASIAIR.
Enter the IP manually - it will still not recognize the ASIAIR.
Click on the WiFi icon in ASIAIR, and go to the network settings.
Notice that the StationMode is set to OFF.
Kill the ASIAIR app, and try to restart it - it will show you the "Insert MicroSD Card" page - and will ask you to scan for ASIAIR on the network (at this point, you are on the 2.4G network that you picked in step #8).
Scan won't find the ASIAIR. Neither will the IP address help at this point
Go back to your tablet's Wifi settings. And this is where the fun begins - you are toast now as you won't find ASIAIR in the available Wifi networks (because you set it to StationMode in step #4!).
The only way to get out of this is to power cycle ASIAIR, wait for a couple of minutes - and connect to the default ASIAIR network.

Am I doing something wrong here? Why does step#13 show me StationMode OFF when I've clearly set it? Obviously the app won't find the ASIAIR when I switch my networks on the tablet.

Please try to forget the SSID in your phone/tablet and restart the ASIAIR device, then try to connect to the SSID again.
