update firmware for ASI290 mini guide camera.

ZWO website says need to download this first to upgrade camera: VS2008 SP1 redistributable package Download.
Nothing happens when I click on it. If I download the camera firmware upgrade without this, it says the file is corrupted. What's up ?

Because it clearly indicates For ASI120MC-S/120MM-S/120MM Mini which literally means For 120 series only. All ASI cameras except 120 series do not have the firmware update.

I'm sorry, but your response makes no sense to me. I have a 120 series camera so it seems it needs to have and update...yes/no ? Perhaps you could reword your response. Perhaps I didn't make it clear that I have one of these cameras. I have this camera. ZWO ASI290MM Mini CMOS Telescope Guide Camera OK, I got beyond the problem mentioned above and go to the point where I have to select the camera. Now when I try to download firmware to my camera, I select asi290 mini and it says firmware not compatible. Please help. Thanks

Pemongillo; I think your message is confusing. your title says 290, your message says 120... then in your latest response you say 120 then 290 two more times. So which is it.. they are two different cameras.. .there is a 120 and a 290.

the 120 has a firmware update
the 290 does not, that's why you get a message it's not compatible, you are trying to update the 290 with 120 firmware.

So sorry, you are correct. I was seeing what wasn't there. I do have the 290MM. My brain was seeing what it thought was supposed to be there, not what was actually there. My Bad.
